My first attempt creating plugin had its moment, it was something that I waited so long to finally learn about plugins but not enough to fully understand plugins whatsoever. There are just a lot of information to keep up and slowly integrating within my brain.
In this first plugin I created, it represents something I always wanted to do and not relied on someone’s plugin. This plugin is called Rudimentary Information, basically just means basic information in this case. I chosen this name, just because its easy to understand and is not hard to tell what the plugin do. i think! So this plugin deals with WordPress themes API and plugins API and displays them in a shortcode manner or you could just use the widget/metabox to do the trick. For example, if you want to display the last updated version of a theme, you will just need to do as follow:
[theme-info slug='theme-name' field='version']
This will then display the version of the theme, so let’s use Twenty Seventeen for this instance
Name of Theme: Twenty Seventeen
Version of Twenty Seventeen: 1.4
